What started out with a tragic death of an unnamed veteran who took his life on the grounds of Carl T Hayden, VA became a moving lesson for Phoenix Saturday, November 11, 2017 with a Veterans’ Rights Rally and March held at the Phoenix Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. The event, hosted by The Cannabis Reporter team and co-hosted by SWCC brought together multiple cannabis advocacy groups to draw attention to the need to overturn the VA’s no-cannabis treatment policy, which many experts believe is contributing to the wave of eight thousand veteran suicides annually.
The rally featured speeches from notable experts on the topic of PTSD and cannabis. Dr. Gina Berman, from the Giving Tree, Sean Kieran, from Weed for Warriors, and Chris Lengyel, U.S. Army veteran, founder of HelpMePTSD.org
